Thanks to freelancer Crystal Huskey, we were able to read about the Community of Bosniaks, who most recently were located in Snellville. This was the last day of Ramadan, and we wanted to be sure to cover such an important event for many people here in our neighborhood and across the world.

August 30:

In Marlene's column this week, we meet the Designing Grandmothers again, and hear more about a cause that is dear to their hearts: CURE Childhood Cancer, a nonprofit working to bring much-needed attention to the diseases of children.

August 31:

Kelly Kautz throws her hat in the ring for mayor and gives up her seat on council. By the look of the comments on the this story so far, looks like people have some definite opinions about this.

A partnership between local businesses, health care providers and law enforcement has worked to establish a new sexual assault center in Snellville. This is definitely good news.

September 1:

This one is definitely very cool. Students and teachers at this school are working together to sustain a garden there. Raven Nichols was there to capture some of the gardening highlights in photos. Thanks, Raven!

Scary, scary! But, the kiddos turned out to be A OK. Whew.
