More than 200 runners made it to Snellville for the debut half-marathon race of the Georgia Cup. Racers began and ended at Briscoe Park. The event was surrounded by other weekend summer activities in Snellville.

June 20 was World Refugee Day, and throughout this month Snellville Patch has highlighted the area's refugee population. For this story we not only talked about Snellville, but we found our way to Clarkston, a central refugee stopping point in the nation.

St. Oliver's Plunkett Catholic Church took part in the American Bake Sale event, helping to raise money to fight childhood hunger. The church had a booth at the Snellville Farmers' Market.

June 21:

Once on the list of stores that may be closing, now the Snellville Borders has a bit of a reprieve. See what a Borders corporate spokeswoman said about the company.

Brookwood High School was ranked No. 149 among the nation's top 500 high schools. Seniors tended to do well on standardized tests and go on to college. Also, classes were noted as having a good student-teacher ratio.

June 23:

FBI officials now believe that the armed robbery at a Wells Fargo in the Centerville area a week ago is the work of man who robbed at bank in Peachtree Corners. See pictures of the suspect.
