May 1:

Snellville announced that it would reveal its newest vision for the town center at a special meeting of the City Council. To read about the plans,

May 2:

Late Sunday night, President Barack Obama announce that Osama bin Laden had been killed in a mission to his secret compound in Pakistan. We quickly got to work looking for someone to write an editorial on their feelings about the moment. Thanks to Amie Ray Davis we had a piece that still continues to draw readers!

May 3:

In the second of a three-part series, Snellville Patch highlighted the work of Snellvile United Methodist Church in Ringgold, Ga. Ringgold was devastated by a rare EF4 tornado that ripped through the north Georgia city, and killed several residents.

Dave Emanuel, a Snellville planning commissioner, announced his campaign for city council. The election will be in November, along with a mayoral race.

May 4:

We gathered together all the video from our trip with Snellville United Methodist Church, and then ran them with a personal account from Bob Nunn, one of the church members who journeyed to Ringgold.

May 5:

Gwinnett Relay for Life was this past week, and Snellville Patch highlighted several teams from our city that were participating. Money raised goes to benefit cancer research.

It was National Day of Prayer, and we found a local church hosting activities. Snellville United Methodist Church has a special drive-thru prayer event on the national day.

May 6:

Brookwood Broncos won one of two playoff games on Friday. Their on Saturday pushed them into the second round of the state tournament.

May 7:

Kibenda Stewart was arrested and charged in the armed robbery of a Snellville McDonald's. Thea eatery was robbed about 3 a.m. Saturday, and when the police found the suspect a few hours later, he was at his home. Money stolen from the restaurant was found hidden in the suspect's Highpoint Road home.
