Here's a story that got a lot of hits this week. People always have something to say about campaign contributions.

October 25:

Mayor Jerry Oberholtzer and Councilman Tod Warner said their final remarks at the last meeting before the newbies come in. (It's election time, or didn't you know.) There will be three new council members and a new mayor. I will be very busy that night. That's all I'm saying.

If you don't know her story, here's your chance to learn a little about the woman behind the black robe and gavel. When we heard she won the local Dancing with the Stars, I -- your editor, Joy -- just had to talk to her. She's a pretty cool lady, and she's from the Snell family. Whohoooo!

October 28

In this highly anticipated game between rivals Brookwood Broncos and Grayson Rams, the Rams pulled it out in the final 20 or so seconds of the game. For a while it was 7-7, but then an interception sealed the loss for the Broncos. Better luck next time.

October 29

Former State Rep. Melvin Everson, who also was a Snellville councilman, has endorsed Barbara Bender in her campaign for mayor.
