Updated: Severe Weather Watch Canceled

The National Weather Service has recalled a severe thunderstorm watch, but there is still a chance of rain throughout the entire day.

A severe thunderstorm watch has been canceled for north Georgia, including Gwinnett County, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service has issues the warned early April 20, and it was expected to end at noon. A line of storms that caused wind damage in northern Alabama earlier today was expected in the area late this morning as a strong cold front approached.

For the Snellville area, there is an 80 percent chance of rain today, and some storms could be severe, according to the National Weather Service. Rain amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch -- maybe higher amounts with thunderstorms -- is expected.Β  The high will be near 77 degrees.

Tonight, showers and thunderstorms remain likely, specifically before 8 p.m. Chance of rain is 60 percent, and some storms could be severe. In addition, there is a chance for rain for each day until Friday.
