The National Weather Service has issued an alert for Walton and Gwinnett County.
Up to 40 mph winds are possible until 5 p.m.
The accompanying thunderstorm has the potential to produce cloud to ground lightning with very heavy rain and wind gusts. Heavy downpours will cause dangerous driving conditions with ponding of water on roadways.
