Snow on the Way

Doesn't look like you will need to run out and get bread and water, but you might want to have melting salts on hand.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for north and central Georgia, including Gwinnett County.

Residents can expect freezing temperatures, and mainly light snow, or rain that changes into snow. Areas in the far north of Georgia can expect one to two inches of snow. Metro Atlanta and surrounding areas, including Snellville may see about an inch of snow. A half-inch of snow may fall in the other areas under the advisory.

The advisory remains in effect from 6 p.m. Wednesday until 12 p.m. Thursday.

A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. The National Weather Services warns that roads, especially bridges and overpasses, will become slick if snow accumulates on them.
