Snellville City Council Candidates to Hold Meet and Greet

Barbara Bender, Tom Witts and Bobby Howard will be at Mellow Mushroom on Monday.

Interested in getting some face time with a few Snellville City Council candidates before casting your vote in the local election?

Three candidates--Barbara Bender for Post 5, Bobby Howard for Post 4 and Tom Witts for Post 3--will be holding a Meet the Candidates reception at Mellow Mushroom, located at 2000 East Main Street in Snellville, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday (Oct. 21).

Chat with the former mayor pro tem, councilman and current mayor pro tem over a slice or two of pizza while talking politics and their vision for the city. Finger foods and soft drinks will be provided at no cost.

"I've seen the good, bad and the ugly; as a business owner with a vested interest in the city, I feel it is necessary to do all that I can to promote who I feel are the best possible leaders for Snellville," said Barbara Rosselle, owner of Mellow Mushroom in Snellville. "I've seen a lot of change over the years, and not all of it for the better. It wasn't until a certain group of council members took office that Snellville truly moved forward as a community. That is why I so strongly support Barbara Bender, Bobby Howard and Tom Witts."

Three seats on the Snellville City Council are open in the November general election for 2013. Incumbent Mike Sabbagh is running for re-election for Post 5, Dexter Harrison is challenging Howard for Post 4, and Alisa Boykin is up against Witts for Post 3.
