What You Need to Know for Election Day 2013

The first Tuesday of November is quickly approaching, meaning that Election Day is here.

If you didn't cast your ballot in advance voting, here's what you need to know for the city election and the county election Nov. 5. 

For the city election: Six candidates are running for Post 3, Post 4 and Post 5 on the Snellville City Council. Candidate Alisa Boykin has challenged Mayor Pro Tem Tom Witts for Post 3; incumbent Councilman Bobby Howard and candidate Dexter Harrison are running for Post 4; and former Mayor Pro Tem Barbara Bender is getting back in the council game and challenging incumbent Councilman Mike Sabbagh for Post 5. 

Registered voters can cast their ballots from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Snellville City Hall, located at 2342 Oak Rd. 

For the county election: Gwinnettians will be voting on the proposed 1 percent Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax in the county election. (A sample ballot is attached to this article.) There are 15 different polling locations in Snellville, so find your specific spot here. Voting starts at 7 a.m. and closes at 7 p.m.
