Exceptional Moms Mother's Day Brunch and Fashion Show

The unconditional love, innate strength, hidden beauty and powerful determination of mothers and caregivers of children and adults with special needs, will be celebrated at the  upcoming Exceptional Moms Mother’s Day Brunch and Fashion Show to be held on Saturday, May 3rd 2014.

“Mother’s Day is just around the corner and for mothers of children with special needs, that day can bring both joy and a bit of sadness,” says Norma Stanley, president/CEO of E.E.E. Marketing Group, director of  SUIF’s Disability Initiative, and the mother of an adult daughter born with cerebral palsy.  “It brings joy because we’ve been blessed with very special children who are differently abled than others, but who bring their own special joy into our lives.  However, sometimes it brings some sadness—especially for newer moms. , because depending on their specific challenges,  their children can’t fully express their love and appreciation for their mothers,” she shared. “The Exceptional Moms Mother’s Day Brunch and Fashion Show wants to enhance the joy of that time and lessen the sadness, by taking a few hours to pamper and celebrate these incredible mothers, who face challenges on a daily basis that not everyone could handle.”

The event will feature radio and television personalities Twanda Black from WALR 104.1 radio, who will serve as mistress of ceremonies, and Heidi Fuller, host of the Fuller View on WATC-TV, Channel 57, who will serve as fashion show commentator. Speakers include inspirational jazz vocalist and minister, Rev. Helga J. Moore, who is also the mother of an adult son born with disabilities and founder of All Children Are Special, Inc.; Stanley, who is also an author of a book for mothers of special needs children, entitled, The Elected Lady, Finding Victory in the Challenge (Words of Faith, Reflection and Inspiration for Mothers of Special Needs Children and Other Moms), as well as representatives from various disability organizations. There will also be performances from talented youth musicians Khyler, Khadin and Devin Powell.
