Gwinnett Woman Wins $1 Million in Mega Millions

Sherilyn Johnson matched 5 of 6 numbers in the Feb. 28 drawing, according to the Georgia Lottery.

A Gwinnett County medical assistant matched five of six numbers in the Feb. 28 Mega Millions lottery drawing and won $1 million.

Sherilyn Johnson, 46, of Stone Mountain used her own lucky numbers, according to a Georgia Lottery press release.

Johnson purchased the ticket at the QuikTrip location at 3495 Satellite Blvd. in Duluth. She claimed her prize March 6 at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Duluth.

“I was checking new tickets when I ran across an old ticket,” she said in the press release. “I checked the numbers online. I was calm but couldn’t believe it.”
