“I applaud the generosity of our employees, volunteers and medical staff during the holiday season,” said CEO Kim Ryan. “Their donations will bring smiles to many children in the coming weeks.”

The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters. According to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, the program began in 1947 in Los Angeles with the collection of 5,000 toys for less fortunate children. Its success led to a nationwide roll-out in 1948. The program has provided 188 million children with over 400 million toys since it was founded.
