My Blog should be titled "Flight of Ideas"....

I've always wanted to blog.  It seems like a productive, cathartic way to release the stream of ideas that run through my brain all day!   I should title it "Flight of Ideas", because many topics interest me, and I have strong opinions about all kinds of things. 

This week, I'm mad at the Boston Bombing brothers.  I mean, it's quite enough that they did what they did, but to be on govt assistance at the time, from the very govt they hate?  The word "coward" really does fit.  And selling dope too?  I hope everyone who has ever bought illegal drugs on the street stops and thinks a minute.  They may have just supported terrorism with that joint or baggie! 

I'm also really ticked at the New York public schools that had the young girls kissing each other and boys taking home condoms, in an effort to better understand the lesbian/gay culture.  GIVE ME A BREAK.  Somebody up there just doesn't get it!   I'm so glad I'm living in the Bible belt, where that is unlikely to happen anytime soon.  Them Yankee schools are going crazy! 

Finally, I'm grateful that CRCT's are over today, and my 3 kids can get back to a normal schedule and have some pressure released.  I totally get that some sort of testing is required to access our students' abilities, but the anxiety and pressure before and during the test is whacked.  Soft music playing in the hallways?  Full page "coping mechanisms" sent home by the school counselor?  Letters urging a full night's sleep and a good breakfast (because we don't worry about that the rest of the year)?  Whew!!   I'm glad it's over, and I don't even take the thing!
