Funeral Arrangements Have Been Made for Cecil Patrick Deal

Deal is the father of Gail Deal, chair of the Snellville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.

Deal – Cecil Patrick Deal age 87, of Snellville, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, surrounded by his family.

He was born March 4, 1925 to Grady and Emma Moseley Deal. He was preceded in death by his wife, Zackie Ree Stephens Deal, and brother Grady E. Deal. He is survived by his Children: Billy Deal and wife Linda; Vickie Fowler and husband Ronnie; Rick Deal; and Gail Deal; Sister: Bonnie Landress; 6 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.

Cecil served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and Korean War. He retired from General Motors in 1987 with 30 years of service. He also served many years as the Commissioner for South Gwinnett Midget Football and as a District Commissioner for Dixie Boys baseball. He loved sports and was a loyal fan and supporter for all South Gwinnett sports.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 in the Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home, Snellville, with Rev. J.B. Reese and Rev. Melvin Everson officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Research Association, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 3036. The family will receive friends 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 2246 Wisteria Drive, Snellville, Georgia 30078.
