Obituary: Ruth Seay Donald Passes Away at 82

Donald passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, September 24, 2012.

Ruth Seay England Donald, age 82, of Snellville, passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, September 24, 2012.  She was the youngest of four children of John and Lillian Seay of Snellville.  She graduated from Snellville High School in 1946. 

Ruth married Ray England of Tucker and is survived by their three children, Donna England Dahlgren and her husband, Doug, of Decatur, Trish England of Tucker and David England of Cumming; and her remaining sibling, Reba Seay Mann Petit of Grayson; grandchildren, Bryon Dahlgren and his wife, Linda, of Decatur, Jeff Dahlgren of Austin, TX, Wendy Dahlgren of Rome, GA, Cheryl Hawkins of OK and Howard Ray England of Cumming, GA; 6 great grandchildren including Amanda and Emily Dahlgren; sister-in-law, Oweeda Seay of Fayetteville; niece, Bunnie Hagler of NC; nephew, Larry Seay of Fayetteville and numerous extended family members in Gwinnett County.  

She was preceded in death by her second husband, Harry Hinton Donald, sister, Edna Britt and her husband, Porter, and their son, Jerry; brother, Lewis Seay and his son, Ricky Seay.

Mrs. Donald was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Snellville.  Ruth enjoyed her home, good old-time gospel music and fellowship, good books, antique-hunting, Atlanta Braves and hummingbirds.  She will be remembered as a beautiful and gracious lady with an amazing reserve of strength and determination, a loyal friend with a keen sense of humor and a sharp mind, good listener and most of all a caring and devoted mother and grandmother.

A Funeral Service Celebrating the Life of Ruth Donald will be held Wednesday, September 26 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the remains placed in state at 1:30 p.m.

Dr. Jeff Gongwer will officiate.  Interment church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., at the funeral home.  Those desiring may make donations to Mt. Zion Baptist Church in memory of Ruth Donald.
