'Shorty' Hesler, World War II Veteran, Passes Away

Mr. Alvin “Shorty” Hesler, age 90, passed away of natural causes on Oct. 1, 2012. 

Mr. Hesler was born in Rome, Ga., on November 23, 1921.  He was a World War II Army Veteran, a Mason and was retired from Central Truck Lines of Atlanta after 32 years of service.

Mr. Hesler is survived by his wife of 67 years, Doris E. Hesler; son, Stanley W. Hesler of Atlanta; daughter, Bonnie June Smith of Greensboro; grandchildren, Bonnie Bynum of Smyrna, and Alvin Hesler of Savannah.

A Funeral Service Celebrating the Life of Alvin “Shorty” Hesler will be held Thursday, October 4 at 1 p.m., at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel with Jim Collins officiating. 

Interment will be held at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Condolences may be viewed or sent to www.wagesfuneralhome.com.
