After Failed Shoplifting Attempt, Two Suspects Allegedly Rob Elderly Woman

The robbery occurred in the Ingles parking lot off Bethany Church Road and Centerville Highway last week.

An elderly woman was reportedly robbed last week while putting her groceries away at an Ingles in unincorporated Snellville.

According to the police report, the incident occurred at 5:25 p.m. Feb. 11 in the supermarket's parking lot, located at 3303 Centerville Highway.

The 79-year-old Lithonia woman was placing her groceries in the back of her car, which was parked directly in front of the store exits, when two young men came up behind her. They grabbed her purse from her arm and then ran into the nearby woods.

She told police she had $100 in the purse, four credit cards and her driver's license.

An Ingles security guard told police that the two men attempted to steal items from inside the Ingles before robbing the woman, too.

Both suspects are described as being white, male, approximately 5'4 to 5'6 in height, 130 to 140 pounds, and had dark hair. One man was wearing a dark hoodie-type sweater with dark jeans, and the other was wearing a white shirt with dark jeans. They both looked to be around 18 to 22 years old.
