According to a Snellville Patch article from April 4, 2011, 48-year-old Marvin Tyus was shot once in his home at 4695 Anderson-Livsey Ln. while he and his family were busy doing home repairs that Monday afternoon. Gwinnett County Police arrived and he was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
While other family members were home at the time of the apparent robbery, no other injuries were reported. The suspects were unknown at the time, and there are no news reports indicating that anyone ever was arrested in connection to the incident.
This past Sunday (Sept. 15), a 34-year-old woman, her 12-year-old son and 19-year-old godson were fatally shot in their home at 4630 Anderson-Livsey Ln., less than a quarter of a mile away from Tyus' house.
Police believe the suspect is Robert Bell, who is still on the run as of late Monday (Sept. 16). Bell had been living in the home for the past two weeks with his wife, who has been accounted for and is not being sought by police.
