Apartment Damaged in Fire

First responders were able to contain an apartment fire at AMLI at Killian Creek.

No one was reported injured during a Sunday evening fire at AMLI at Killian Creek apartments, fire officials said.

Firefighters responded to AMLI apartments at 2300 Country Walk at 6:13 p.m., according to an incident report from Deputy Chief Charles Well, spokesperson for Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services. Apartment residents, who were alerted by smoke detectors, had escaped and were not injured.

After arriving about 6:20 p.m., teams located a fire inside a bedroom, where it appeared that a sprinkler system helped control flames, the statement said. Firefighters were then able to extinguish the fire and contain damage to the bedroom. The fire was reported under control at 6:42 p.m.
