Armed Robber: 'It's Nothing Personal, It's Just What We Do'

A woman told police that she was robbed and held captive by three men in her unincorporated Snellville home last week.

A woman called police last week after she was robbed by three unknown men for 40 minutes in her home in unincorporated Snellville.

According to the Gwinnett County Police report, the incident occurred around 2 a.m. Sept. 4 while she was sleeping at her house off Kilt Lane. Her husband was out of town and her daughter was not home.

The 42-year-old told authorities that a man came into her bedroom, turned on the lights and ordered her to wake up.

He demanded to know where her money was. Shocked and startled, she told him that she didn't have any money to give him.

Two other men then entered the room. One of them kept saying, "Let's just shoot [her]," according to the incident report.

They moved her to the floor in the kitchen and ordered her not to look as one of them said, "It's nothing personal, it's just what we do."

Two of the suspects started loading belongings from her bedroom into her car as the third one kept watch over the victim. While they were upset when they found only $60 in her purse, the men were able to get away with a Samsung tablet, a Samsung Galaxy phone, a Samsung laptop, a flat screen television, jewelry and six bottles of alcohol.

They also took an almost empty bottle of Amaretto from her kitchen. They ended up taking more than $9,100 worth of goods.

At one point, the suspects asked her if she had any tape so they could bind her. She said no, but then they found painter's tape and asked her why she lied to them. They ended up not tying her up.

They left the scene in her Dodge, but not before telling her not to call police for another hour or they would return and retaliate. Since they took her phones and disabled her landline, she immediately went to her neighbor's house and called 911. She and police believe the suspects gained entrance into the home by prying the open the garage door.

Police found her car with the lights on abandoned at the front of the subdivision. They used K9s to attempt to find the suspects but were not able to locate them, according to the police report.

The suspects were described as being three black males who wore black hoodies and gloves. One was 6'1" with dreads; another suspect was 5'8" and skinny; and the third man was also skinny, 5'7" and had light black skin.
