Update: Personal Care Home Owner Surrenders

Caulette Mason Green, owner of a personal care home in Snellville, was arrested and charged on Monday, following a November incident where a resident stabbed another at her facility.

Updated December 21, 2011 at 2:10 p.m.: Caulette Mason Green, the owner of a Best Care of Georgia facility in Snellville, turned herself in on Dec. 19, 2011, and posted bond the same day. She is charged with reckless conduct regarding a stabbing incident at the facility.

are reporting that in late November they arrested and charged a resident of a personal care home in an altercation that resulted in one man being stabbed.

Preston Horn, who was staying at 3051 Sonya Lane in Snellville, was charged with aggravated assault and simple battery in the incident. Police said the man stabbed another resident, Nathan Hallman, in the forehead after he tried "to diffuse a disagreement between Horn and another resident."

The location was the site of an assisted living facility operated by Best Care of Georgia. Since the incident, however, Caulette Mason Green, the owner of this specific facility, also has been charged with reckless conduct.

"The investigation revealed the personal care owner, Caulette Mason Green, failed to provide adequate medication to Horn during his stay as required by the Healthcare Facilities Regulation through the state of Georgia," police officials said in a press release.

Green has since voluntarily turned in her license for this particular facility, police said. Licenses for such facilities are issued by the Georgia Department of Human Resources.Β 

In addition, the city of Snellville has placed on issuing any new business licenses for personal care homes while it reviews its policies and brings them in line with Gwinnett County. The moratorium will last 90 days, or until ordinances are adopted, whichever comes first.
