Child Abduction Alert: Police Search for Missing Toddler

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has issued a Levi's call for a two-year-old girl abducted from outside the Samson Fitness Center in nearby Lithonia.

Update, Oct. 16, 1:17 p.m.: Myrai Robinson has been found safe at Lithonia High School just a few hours after being abducted, according to 11Alive. Officials believe the person who stole the van did not know the child was in the van, then dropped her off when he realized what was happening.

----------

Dekalb County police are searching for a missing two-year-old girl, Myrai Robinson, who disappeared from the parking lot of Samson Fitness Center. The facility is a part of New Birth Baptist Church (6400 Woodrow Road, Lithonia).

Authorities say she is in extreme danger.

CBS Atlanta reports that the child's babysitter left the child in the van around 9:30 a.m. this morning while she went to work out. When she came back from her workout, the girl and the van were missing.

Myria, an African-American girl, was last seen wearing blue tights, gray and pink sneakers, a white t-shirt and blue and white hairbows.

The van is a 2010 Dodge Caravan with a plastic covering on the back windshield; the tag number, written on paper, is 40146978.

Anyone with information is asked to dial 911 or call DeKalb Police at 770-724-7850.

WHY was the child left alone in the car while the babysitter went to work out??? How irresponsible! Wow.

Don't even wait for the child to return, throw that idiot in jail and ensure she never has access to children again. God Bless little Myrai. I hope they find her soon and that someone took the van without realizing there was a baby inside...because well who leaves a kid in the car alone. Just drop her off somewhere so someone can easily find her. :( So sad.

Soon to be unemployed babysitter. Too bad names like that aren't made public so that other parents know who they can and can't trust.

Were the keys left inside of the vehicle? How unthoughtful.......

Let's be thankful that little Myrai was found and that she wasn't harmed. That's the important part of this story to me.

Praise The Lord that Myrai is safe! The babysitter needs to see the inside of a jail cell until her court date & should never be allowed to be in charge of a child's life again!

Thank goodness she's safe. Just as I suspected, they didn't know she was in there and dropped her off safely. Kudos to them for that but they still need to be locked up with the babysitter.
