Citizen's Police Academy Registration Open

The 10-week program begins Sept. 12.

The 16th session of the Snellville Citizens Police Academy begins September 12, 2013. It helps educate the community about police functions and how the community can help deter crime.

During the 10-week course, police will discuss law enforcement topics and engage the public in practical exercises. Topics include domestic violence, firearms training, and crime scene processing. There also will be a tour of the Gwinnett County jail.

This program is open to all Snellville and South Gwinnett residents, age 18 and older. The program is free but registration is needed.

Applications can be downloaded from www.snellville.org, or be picked up in person at the police department. A background check will be completed.
