Ex-Clayton County Sheriff Held in Gwinnett

Victor Hill, former sheriff in Clayton County is being held at the Gwinnett County Detention Center.

Gwinnett County Detention Center is now holding a former Clayton County sheriff following a grand jury indictment Wednesday.

Victor Hill, of College Park, is indicted on 37 counts, including theft by taking, making false statements and violating the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, according to a report on WSB-TV. At the hearing, Hill said he was innocent of all charges.

According to the news report, Hill is being held in Gwinnett County instead of Clayton Couny for his safety.Β

He was booked Wednesday evening into the Gwinnett County detention center. His bond was set at $50,000, according to media reports.
