Fire at 4900 Block of Summer Place

House fire on the southwest side of Snellville.

Firefighters responded to a call at 6:04 p.m. last night by an occupant of house at the 4900 block of Summer Place, in southwest Snellville.  

The fire was in the basement garage of the single-story wooden house, according to a report by Captain Tommy Rutledge of the Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services, and caused minor damage to the contents of the garage. 

Firefighters made an aggressive interior attack and were able to contain the fire.  The cause of the blaze is undetermined and under investigation.

Eight occupants -- three adults and five children -- were home at the time but escaped unharmed.
