Former Brookwood Football Player Shot in Arm

He told authorities that the shooting occurred during an armed robbery, but police say the robbery didn't happen.

Authorities say that a former Brookwood High football player's claims that he was shot in the arm during an armed robbery Monday (Nov. 4) are untrue.

According to WSB-TV, Richland County South Carolina Sheriff's officials said that University of South Carolina player Kenny Miles was not being robbed when he was shot in the arm.

The initial report says Miles' gunshot wound was life-threatening, but Sheriff Leon Lott told the news station that the injury was only a flesh wound.

It's unclear as to what exactly happened during the shooting. Lott also said Tuesday (Nov. 5) that authorities are continuing to investigate the matter. No arrests have been made in the incident.
