GWA Football Player 'Holding His Own' As Community Continues to Pray
The condition of Jon Ross Snell, the George Walton sixth-grade student who collapsed during football practice Monday, is reported to be stable.
The condition of Jon Ross Snell, the George Walton Academy teen from Loganville who collapsed on Monday at football practice, has been upgraded from critical to stable, according to a Facebook post by his mother, Nan Snell.
Monroe Fire Department reported that the teen was airlifted to Egleston Children's Hospital Monday after collapsing during football practice. He underwent surgery overnight and again on Tuesday morning. Friends, following his family's Facebook posts, reported that the next 48 hours were critical. A Facebook post on Tuesday evening read:
"JR has been placed on a feeding tube. He is still listed as critical. No further updates at this time. Keep on Praying."

An updated post Wednesday night, released with the family's permission, reported that the teen is now "holding his own."
"He's stable and they're going to leave him on the ventilator until Friday to give him time to heal from the surgery. As soon as he is able to withstand it, they're going to go an MRI on his head to decide what to do next. KEEP PRAYING FOR COMPLETE RECOVERY! GOD IS GREAT!"
