Man Arrested, Charged in Gwinnett Homicide
Carlos Garcia-Viera was arrested in New York City.
The man Gwinnett County Police suspect in the death of a Lawrenceville man has been arrested in New York City.
Gwinnett Police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith says members of the New York Police Department located and arrested Carlos Garcia-Viera on Sept. 25. Garcia-Viera is currently in custody and faces additional charges in New York. Once his New York charges are addressed, Garcia-Viera will be extradited to Georgia to face charges related to the death of Diego Rojo Ramirez, 23, of Lawrenceville.
Garcia-Viera was charged with aggravated assault and felony murder on September 24, before he was in police custody.
Ramirez's body was found on the side of a road in Atlanta in August.
