Inside the Police Blotter: Unruly Child, Wells Fargo Fraud, Theft of Electricity

An in-depth look at few police reports from our Snellville blotter.

This week, Snellville Patch took a closer look into recent crime reports from the Snellville Police Department.

Your Child Was Just That Horrible: A mother called police earlier this month to make a report for an "unruly child." Residing near Lenora Church Road, the woman told police that her 14-year-old child had walked out of the house that morning and refused to get ready for school.

The boy told Snellville police that he didn't want to attend school for two reasons: One, he didn't finish his homework, and two, he didn't possess "good shoes." Officers on the scene said that the son was soft-spoken, unharmed and in good health, but there was still a report made of an "unruly child."  The mother, who said the child was disobedient and wanted the help of juvenile court, transported her son to school and met with the school's resource officer.

Stealing Bank: On May 12, a Wells Fargo investigator reported to Snellville police that a fraudulent check was cashed at the bank's 1590 Scenic Highway location in April. The check, totaling $1,075, was drawn on a business made payable to a person who showed his or her driver's license as ID, and the investigator provided a photo of the person to police. The investigator also told police that five other people also cashed checks under the same account, all at Wells Fargo banks in the metro-Atlanta area.

EMC Trouble: Walton EMC of Georgia EMC told Snellville police that someone claiming to be the landlord of an apartment complex called Walton to report illegal tampering and connections. The illegal crimes, which supposedly took place on numerous days, were done on electrical services coming from one of the apartments of the complex, located on the 2500 block of Dorian Drive near Lenora Church Road. Walton EMC reported the incidents to Snellville police on May 17, and they believe th person claiming to be the landlord is not the landlord. Snellville PD has reported the incident as a theft of service.
