Lilburn Man Fatally Shot by Gwinnett PD Carried BB Gun

The incident took place just before midnight last night.

According to a police report sent at 11:44 p.m. Wednesday evening, "officers responded to a domestic dispute call and were confronted by a male armed with a gun."

The incident took place at the 3800 block of Southgate Drive in unincorporated Lilburn.

According to a Sept. 13 press release, the original 911 call reported that a male with a gun was threatening to commit a robbery.

As the first officer approached the residence, he was met by Victor Charles Le, 20, who was standing in the driveway armed with a handgun, according to the report. The officer drew his handgun and gave verbal commands to Le to drop his weapon, but Le ignored the commands and walked toward the officer with the gun pointed in his direction.

The officer fired one round in response to the threat, striking Le in the chest. Le was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The gun used by Le was identified as a black BB gun.
