Medical Examiner Working to Identify Missing Man

The Gwinnett County Medical Examiner is expected to positively identify a man found in Norris Lake.

In addition, the medical examiner will look to determine a cause of death, and to notify next of kin.

The man's body was found by divers on Monday about 3:10 p.m., with assistance from sonar devices and cadaver dogs.

A number of agencies from several counties, including Gwinnett, DeKalb, Forsyth and Dawson counties and a volunteer K-9 team from metro Atlanta had assisted in the search throughout three days. Fire fighters were first dispatched to the scene about 12:11 p.m. Saturday when they received a call of capsized boat in Norris Lake. 

After the man is positively identified and his family is notified, officials are expected to release his name to the public.
