News Nearby: Police Suspect Son Killed Elderly Mother

Gwinnett County Police say they believe an elderly woman's son may be responsible for her death.

Officers were called to 1139 Simonton Glen Way in unincorporated Lawrenceville at 10:28 Tuesday morning. The husband of 72 year old Phyllis Wilson and her care taker .

Officers observed some signs of trauma on Mrs. Wilson's body, but did not know the extent of her injuries. The Gwinnett Medical Examiner's Office determined she had been stabbed to death.

The Wilsons' son, 42 year old Mark Wilson who suffers from schizophrenia lives with the couple. However, police have not been able to track him down. They believe the son may be responsible for Mrs. Wilson's death. They have obtained arrest warrants for Mark for Aggravated Assault and Felony Murder. Investigators are still trying to figure out a motive for the murder.

A champagne colored 2006 Toyota Camry with Georgia license plate ACE 4286 was also missing from the home. Police believe Mark may be driving this vehicle.
