News Nearby: Stone Mountain Police Officer Charged in Corruption Case
U.S. Attorney Sally Yates says at least 10 officers from various agencies are alleged to have received payouts.
A Stone Mountain police officer has been charged in a corruption case involving law enforcement personnel from other agencies throughout metro Atlanta.
United States Attorney Sally Yates announced the arrests during a Tuesday news conference, according to CBS Atlanta News.
Besides the Stone Mountain officer, Yates said two DeKalb County officers, two Forest Park officers, one Atlanta police officer, one MARTA officer and one contracted Federal Protection worker have been arrested.

The names of the officers have not been released.
The officers are alleged to have taken thousands of dollars in payouts. They have been charged with crimes including assisting with drug trafficking, receiving illegal payouts and using firearms during the commission of a crime.
