An 18-year-old man has turned himself in to authorities in connection with a Friday night accident that injured two people on Lake Lanier, according to media reports.

The Gainesville Times reported that the teen, accompanied by his father, issued a "statement of involvement" to the Hall County Detention Center.

According to a news release from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, the boy’s father heard about the crash on the radio, noticed damage to his boat and then confronted his son, who admitted to hitting something but said he did not see or hear anything.

The teen's identity has not been released, and there's no word on what charges may have been filed.

The victims reportedly were a 23-year-old man and 20-year-old woman. Their names have not been released. They were on a Sea-Doo jet boat that was running at low speed with its lights on.
