Man Flees Police, Hits Power Pole, Flees Again

Snellville officers say that Derek Ingram, of Snellville, led police on a high-speed chase, crashed into a power pole, and still tried to escape on foot.

A Snellville man was arrested last week in connection to fleeing from police and crashing into a power pole on Lenora Church Road.

According to Snellville Police, the incident began around 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 8, near Henry Clower Boulevard. An officer's automated license plate reader notified him that a passing vehicle had a suspended registration, so the officer performed a traffic stop.

Once they pulled into the nearby Burger King and the officer started walking toward it, the driver left at a high speed toward Highway 78. The officer attempted to pursue the car for two minutes until the chase was called off.Β
