Police Notes: Checkpoint Nets Numerous Arrests

Citizens nabbed for drugs, drunken driving and more during checkpoint Friday.

Law enforcement teams issued at least 60 citations during a public safety checkpoint in Snellville on Friday, according to Snellville police.

Snellville Police Department, Georgia State Patrol and Walton County Sheriff’s Office all participated in the operation, which was conducted from 7:30 p.m. - 3 a.m., on Feb. 18.

Snellville law enforcement was awaiting final tallies from all agencies, as of Monday morning.

Arrests included:

  • 7 arrested and charged with driving under the influence
  • 4 arrested for drugs, including one arrest with seizure of a vehicle, $207 and 8 ounces of marijuana
  • 3 arrested for license violations
  • 5 cited for underage possession of alcohol
