While one of the calls came from a neighbor, the other call came from the incident's only surviving victim, Justin Cato, while he was outside the Anderson-Livsey Lane home. In his call for help, which can be heard above, he explains that he and three others were shot and that the suspect was still nearby.

Cato was the boyfriend of the homeowner, Angelina Benton, who died from the shooting along with her 12-year-old son and 19-year-old godson. Cato was shot in the leg.

Police believe the man responsible for the shooting is Robert Bell, a 33-year-old man who had recently moved into the home. He is not in police custody and is believed to be on the run, possibly to another state.
