Police: Remote-Controlled Helicopter Used to Smuggle Contraband Into Prison

Two men from Snellville were arrested in connection to the incident.

Four people, including two from Snellville, have been arrested in connection to using a remote-controlled helicopter to sneak tobacco into a South Georgia prison.

According to WSB-TV, a Calhoun state prison lieutenant allegedly saw the small helicopter hovering over the gates.

Deputies searched the area and an hour later found a suspicious car with Gwinnett County tags. They searched the vehicle and found the helicopter and up to 2 pounds of rolled-up tobacco inside.

Aaron Foster and Donavan Johnson, both of Snellville, and Marc Circle and Angel Thomas, of Decatur, were charged and have been bonded out of jail, WSB-TV reported.

The suspects were able to make two drops, but officials were able to find the items, according to authorities.
