Police Seek Man Who Tried to Abduct 13-Year-Old with Lost Puppy Story

Police say he was driving a red pickup truck.

Snellville Police are looking for a man who allegedly attempted to abduct a teenage girl Tuesday, Feb. 25, near Highway 78 and Cooper Road.

The police department said on its Facebook page that a man pulled up to a 13-year-old on Meadow Trace Drive and tried to lure her into his red pickup truck with a story about a lost puppy.

Here's the SPD's Facebook post, sent around 7 p.m. Tuesday:

About 20 minutes ago we received the call of a possible abduction attempt in the area of Meadow Trace Drive (near Hwy 78 / Cooper Road). The description is as follows:
- White male
- Older full-sized red pickup truck with some rust
- Black hoodie pulled tight around his face
Subject pulled up to a 13-year-old girl, and attempted to coax her into his truck with the lost puppy trick. The girl ran, and the male left the location quickly. 
There is no direction of travel or tag number, but if you see anything similar please call 911. We have officers checking the area.
