Rash of Local Burglaries Possibly Linked

Gwinnett County Police are looking for the public's help to find suspects in a number of incidents in Snellville, Loganville and Lawrenceville.

The Gwinnett County Police Department is asking the public for information regarding a series of burglaries that they believe may be connected.

According to GCPD spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith, five burglaries have happened in a relatively small area and all have similar suspects and vehicle descriptions. Three of the burglaries happened in the Lawrenceville area, one in the Loganville area and one in Snellville.

The following is information from GCPD on each incident.

Incident 1: 2100 Block of Leafmore Court, Lawrenceville

On Nov. 7, 2011, at approximately 3 p.m., officers responded to a burglary alarm call. Upon arrival it was discovered that the front door jam and deadbolt were damaged. The residence appeared to have been ransacked.

Incident 2: 1400 Block of Dodger Way, Lawrenceville

On Nov. 7, 2011, at approximately 1:55 p.m., officers responded to a burglary call. The victim stated she was in her bedroom and heard the doorbell ring. When the victim reached her living room the front door was kicked in. She said a suspect was in the living room, but that he fled when he saw her. According to her statement, the suspect had a thin metal object in his left hand. The man, and two other suspects who were waiting outside, left in an older model maroon Jeep Cherokee.

Police are looking for three suspects. One is described as man in his late 20s with a dark complexion and brown eyes. He weighed approximately 140-150 pounds, was about 5-foot-4, and he was wearing blue jeans, a black baseball cap, and a forest green coat with a hood. The other two also are described as male, one with a large build.

Incident 3: 3900 Block of Maple Tree Lane, Snellville

On Nov. 7, 2011, at approximately 11:30 a.m., officers responded to a burglary call. A witness told police that two men drove a red Jeep Cherokee into the victim’s driveway. The suspects were seen approximately 20 minutes later carrying items from the house in a white laundry basket. Police later discovered that the front door was forced open. Suspects included several men, including the driver of the vehicle who was seen wearing a grey hood covering his head.

Incident 4: 1000 Block of Melrose View Court, Lawrenceville

On Nov. 11, 2011, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a witness told police that a burgundy Bronco pulled up to victim’s house. One occupant got out of the vehicle and walked to the front door. The other three occupants got out of vehicle and walked behind the residence, police said. The suspects then left with a flat-screen television. There are four male suspects.

Incident 5: 3400 Block of Sweet Basil Lane, Loganville

On Nov. 11, 2011, at approximately 2:30 p.m., unknown suspect(s) kicked in the victim’s back door. A witness told police that he saw four men leaving in a vehicle described as a late 1990s model SUV with faded black paint. The vehicle, was last seen at the pool parking lot.
