Residents Escape Snellville House Fire

Firefighters responded to blaze on Temple View Drive. No injuries were reported.

Residents escaped unharmed from a Snellville house fire Wednesday evening in the 2400 block of Temple View Drive, SW.

A neighbor reported the house fire, and firefighters responded about 7:30 p.m., according to a press statement from Capt. Tommy Rutledge, of Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services. Occupants were home at the time, but they were alerted by a neighbor and able to escape.

When crews arrived they found smoke and flames coming from the attic, and additional firefighters were requested, according to Rutledge's statement. The fire was contained mostly to the attic and roof, but the main living space also had smoke, heat and water damage. In addition, there was minor damage to the siding of a neighboring home, fire officials said.
