1 Dead, 1 Injured in 3-Vehicle Crash on Ronald Reagan Parkway

One of the drivers died on scene and a child was transported to Scottish Rite.

Update, 3:27 p.m.:

WSB-TV reports that the injured child, 8, was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition. 

Gwinnett County Police said the three-vehicle crash started when a car hit an ice patch on Ronald Reagan Parkway near Five Forks Trickum Road, continues WSB-TV. The car, which was in the eastbound lanes, spun into another vehicle and they both crossed the median into oncoming traffic. The accident occurred around 7 a.m.

The Gwinnett County Police Accident Investigation Unit is investigating a fatal accident that occurred on Ronald Reagan Parkway near Five Forks Trickum Road. Three vehicles were involved.

One of the drivers died on scene as a result of the accident, and a child was transported to Scottish Rite for treatment.

This location is on the border of unincorporated Lawrenceville and unincorporated Snellville.

Lanes on Ronald Reagan Parkway are now open.

Snellville Police are advising drivers to avoid Ronald Reagan Parkway due to a traffic accident Monday morning (Dec. 16). 

Both eastbound and westbound are shut down for the next several hours, according to a Nixle alert. 

The Snellville Police Facebook page says the collision took place on Ronald Reagan just west of Webb Gin House Road and is not in the city limits, so Gwinnett County Police are investigating the incident.
