Search Moves Into Third Day for Kayaker

Emergency workers returned to Norris Lake Monday morning to resume search for the body of a 46-year-old man.

Recovery efforts resumed Monday for a missing 46-year-old man who is presumed drowned in Norris Lake in Snellville.

Gwinnett County's swift water rescue team and divers from Forsyth County returned to Norris Lake at 8 a.m., after . Emergency workers from several counties, including Dawson and DeKalb counties have also been part of search efforts throughout the weekend.

Rescue and recovery workers have been looking for the 46-year-old man since Saturday, when Gwinnett Fire and Rescue responded to call of a capsized boat about 12:11 p.m. The man, who was helping build a boat deck at a nearby home, had taken a kayak out on the water during a lunch break.

Fire officials said the man could not swim and was not wearing a life jacket. Divers

By Sunday, the man was presumed dead, and fire officials said they were looking for body. Cadaver dogs from Dawson County arrived to assist. By nightfall, the man still had not been located.

The man has not been identified by officials. Confirmation of the man's identify will come when and if a body is recovered, and family has been notified.

The 90-acre Norris Lake is located in a private, residential community between Gwinnett and DeKalb counties.
