Snellville Man Arrested in Connection to Robbing Friend at Gunpoint

Jeremy Brian Lawrence, 19, was charged with armed robbery, false imprisonment and kidnapping.

A Snellville man was arrested recently in connection to robbing a friend back in October.

Jeremy Brian Lawrence, 19, was arrested and charged with armed robbery, false imprisonment and kidnapping Dec. 13 by Duluth Police.

According to the incident report, Lawrence was at his friend's house off Henry Court in Duluth around noon Oct. 24. He left after an hour but returned at 7 p.m., claiming his cell phone was there. Three unknown men were with him.

While he and his friend, 20, were looking for the phone, one of the other men struck the friend in the face with a gun. The unknown man pointed a gun at him until Lawrence left the room, the report says.

The other two men entered the room, one of them with a shotgun. All three men demanded that the victim give them "the money." After he tried explaining that he didn't have any money, two of the men ransacked the room, opening drawers and even pulling down ceiling tiles.

Having no idea what was going on, the victim's girlfriend entered. One of the suspects pointed a gun at her and ordered her to sit down on the bed. They threatened to take the girl for ransom if they didn't get the money.

In the end, the girl was not harmed, but the three men took $45 in cash, the victim's Apple MacBook Pro and a PlayStation 3. The victims saw the suspects leave in the car that Lawrence was driving.

The report does not detail if the three other suspects have been named or arrested. According to Gwinnett County Jail records, Lawrence remains in jail with no bond.
