Snellville Police Reports K-9 Dog Passes Away: 'RIP Euro!'

"Euro" was one of three original dogs in the department's K-9 Unit.

The Snellville Police Department announced the passing of one of its original K-9 officers.

The department posted on its Facebook page that Euro, who was one of three dogs in the K-9 Unit when it started in 2004. Euro retired in 2011 after seven years, and lived with his handler, Officer Dennis Peters.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Ofc. Peters and his family. RIP Euro!" the Facebook post said.

My sympathies go out to Officer Peters and the Snellville PD. My family lost our cat on March 18, so I can relate to the loss of Euro. Our pets become like part of the family.
