Snellville's Carmike Theater is Bomb Free

Snellville Police investigated the scene and found no evidence of explosives.

A bomb threat was called in to Carmike Cinemas Friday morning, including to the one in Snellville.  

As of 12:38 p.m., Snellville Police said that there was no evidence of explosives at the Snellville Theater.  

"This was a nonspecific threat to Carmike Cinemas," said Det. Trey Downs of Snellville Police.  "We checked everything out and everything is fine."

According to the AJC, company spokesman Terrell Mayton said that "callers identifying themselves as employees of a vendor used by the Columbus-based Carmike Cinemas made the threats to theaters."

Theaters in Georgia, South Carolina and other states were involved in the threat.
