Stolen Truck From Night of Triple Homicide Found in New Orleans

Gwinnett Police believe Robert Bell, the suspect in the Snellville-area shootings, is in the Louisiana town.

Gwinnett County Police believe the suspect connected to the triple homicide that took place in unincorporated Snellville is staying in New Orleans.

What led police to this conclusion is that, on the same night of the shooting Sept. 15, a pickup truck was stolen half a mile away from the incident location on Anderson-Livsey Ln. The same truck was recovered Oct. 2 in the Louisiana town.

"This information combined with other information gathered during the investigation, leads detectives to believe the suspect, 33-year-old Robert Bell, is in New Orleans," said Gwinnett Police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith in a news release.

Bell is wanted in connection to fatally shooting a local woman, her 12-year-old son and 19-year-old godson, and also injuring the mother's boyfriend. The incident took place at the woman's home, where she allowed Bell and his girlfriend to stay.

Detectives believe that all four of his victims were intentionally injured since they each were shot multiple times.

Bell is a black male who's 6 feet tall and 300 pounds. Anyone with information about him should contact Gwinnett Homicide Unit detectives at 770-513-5300. Bell also should be considered armed and dangerous, and anyone encountering him should call 911.

Crimestoppers also is offering a reward of $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest and an indictment. A conviction is not necessary to receive the award. Tipsters may remain anonymous and can provide tips by visiting www.crimestoppersatlanta.org or by calling 404-557-TIPS (8477).
