Suspects Use Manhole Cover to Smash Glass, Burglarize Barron's Jeweler

The incident took place at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday.

According to Snellville Police, three males broke into Barron's Fine Jewelry at 1850 Scenic Highway.

The suspects broke eight display cases and made off with an undisclosed amount of jewelry. According to Channel 2 Action News, the suspects used a manhole cover to smash the glass of the business.

This is the second time Barron's Jeweler has been targeted in a little over a month. On Sep. 6, officers responded to an alarm caused by a glass break at the same location at 11:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered two shattered glass panels to the right of the front doors.

Though broken, the glass was still in the frames, according to a Snellville Police report.

. Police said that two of the men entered the store armed with weapons, and ordered two patrons and five employees to the ground. The third suspect was outside acting as a lookout, according to Det. K. Sebring. The men then smashed the jewelry cabinets, and left with an undisclosed amount.

The suspects were later taken into custody.
