April 22 Snellville City Council Meeting Agenda

The public is invited to discuss the lower lake at Summit Chase and an amendment to the group home ordinance will be discussed.

Snellville City Council will meet April 22 for a regularly scheduled meeting at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. A work session will be held at 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend the regularly scheduled meeting.

Work Session Discussion Items, 6:30 p.m.:

  • Downtown Development Authority boundary expansion (see attached)
  • Allowing prices to be displayed on artwork in community room
  • Performance audit
  • Economic development update
  • LCI update

Regular Business and Public Hearing7:30 p.m.:

  • The mayor and council will present the money raised for the City of Snellville K9s by Wild Wing Cafe
  • Various committees and departments will give an update
  • The mayor and council will discuss a conditional use permit for L&B JL LLC (second reading). This is a general auto repair shop
  • The mayor and council will discuss deleting and replacing a section of the zoning ordinance to allow community living arrangements, personal care homes and group homes as conditional uses. 
  • The mayor and council will invite public comment and discussion on the lower lake at Summit Chase.
  • The mayor and council will discuss an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Urban Redevelopment Agency. This is a legal necessity for the Bond Refunding to move forward; it simply guarantees payment of the bond debt by the City and gives the city's concurrence for refinancing. 
  • They will also discuss expanding the Downtown Development Authority's boundaries.
  • Agreement with Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner for billing and collection of property taxes and stormwater fees.
  • Agreement with Gwinnett County for use of election equipment. This will allow the use of the county's memory cards for their Optical Scan Equipment used in the elections.
  • Nomination of Kirk Buis to the Public Arts Commission.
  • Discussion on adopting official colors for the City of Snellville.
