Bites Nearby: Texas Roadhouse

I get a lot of news releases and such. This thing is going on. This other thing is going. And, more than once what's being going on is an event at Texas Roadhouse. I've definitely taken note of that.

Sam Roper is the managing partner at this restaurant, which is part of a nationwide chain of more than 300 Texas Roadhouse eateries. There are nine in Georgia, with one opening in Macon in November. Whohooo, right in time for the holiday rush!

Right now, the Snellville restaurant is leading an effort to raise money for multiple sclerosis, a debilitating and incurable autoimmune disease. It is hosting a this coming Monday, October 10. 

Back in January, we ran a story about this same Texas Roadhouse hosting a fundraiser for the . Ten percent of the bill that day went to the raise dire funds for the nonprofit in Snellville.

And, in July, the Snellville Texas Roadhouse team were even in a line-dancing contest.

They even does in-house field trips for children. The kids get to take a tour of restaurant, complete with an educational reading component. There's picture taking, a little line dancing and of course, food. There's also Kid's Club Night every Tuesday.

With all this talk about what cool community partners Snellville's is, I almost forgot to talk about the food. And, there is that.

It specializes in American favorites: steaks, ribs, burgers, chicken and seafood. The food is cooked fresh and prices are pretty reasonable. The menu is pretty extensive, with a kids' menu, family options, lots of sides, several desert choices (the Big Ol' Brownie looks pretty tasty) and dine-in dinner choices of $7.99 on Mondays - Thursdays if you come in before 6 p.m.

Lots of variety, and in a cool atmosphere with cool people who do cool things for the community.

is located at 1969 Dogwood Lane, Snellville. Hours: Monday - Thursday, 4 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.; Friday, 4 p.m. - 11 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m. - 11 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 p.m. - 9 p.m.   The menu, which include children's items, varies in prices with the most expensive items being steaks. Those can run you upwards of $20. However, there are many other items for less than that and should be filling. And, don't forget the dine-in, low-cost options on Mondays-Thursdays.
